Henry of Pelham was son to Nicholas Smith (ca. 1776), our first
Canadian ancestor, Loyalist fifer and Iroquois translator during
the Revolutionary War). Henry added "Pelham" to his name
after the toll-road which ran along his vineyard in Niagara's
Short Hills Bench.
Your tour starts in the historic tasting room
and gallery (built as an inn), then continues into the adjacent
restored vineyard. Later, a tasting of
reserve wines awaits you in Canada's largest underground
barrel cellar.
You will also taste the Cuvee Catharine Brut and
visit a room devoted to ageing this--Canada's pre-eminent
sparkling wine.

My sister and I visited during the time of year Jan 2115 when there is not too much to see. We have done many wine tours in the past and have to say this was by far the most fun and at times more informative than we have experienced in the past. Trudy our tour guide has an infectious personality and was very knowledgeable. Even though my sister and I tend to talk a lot she made us feel that what we had to say was worth listening to and responded in a way that caused us to listen and appreciate her point of view. She was a gracious hostess.

My husband and I took the tour on October 14th 2015. The staff were warm and inviting. We enjoyed the whole winery tour and our guide Carl was quite knowledgeable of the wine making process. Our wine tasting experience was terrific. We came home with two free bottles of wine of our choice and purchased nine more because we are now hooked on Henry of Pelham wines. Dorothy and Jim

This was one of the nicest wineries I have been to. Our guide was very friendly extremely knowledgeable every question we asked was answered in depth. The wine tasting was amazing and the two bottles of wine included with our gift card was a bonus and well worth the cost. The facilities we toured were very interesting. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend taking a tour. I will be back with my out of country visitors.

My wife and I toured the facility on Sept. 6 2013. The experience was both informative and enjoyable. Our guide was both knowledgeable and personable. It would have great to have been able to see the crushing and bottling however we realize that this was not part of the programme.

My wife and I took this tour on Dec 1 2012 and it was fantastic. Our guide was knowledgeable and went above and beyond in showing us the ins and outs of the facility. We were especially impressed with the enormous wine cellar reportedly the largest in Canada. All staff were very friendly and the wines are terrific. I would definitely recommend the Henry of Pelham winery and it's wines to anybody. It was a great afternoon out.

Dan was our tour guide and he was extremely nice and his tour was very informative. The winery itself was very clean and organized and the wines were fabulous I would truly recommend this winery to my friends The other staff members to which we had conversation were also VERY nice Thank you for a pleasant experience

Overall good experience. Wine making process not demonstrated but was not part of the promised experience. Wine tasting was excellent no cheese though good value with the 2 wines chosen with our package. Guide knowledgable.

We were disappointed with our tour. We thought you would show us more about the process of wine making.We would like to have seen the way the grapes are treated & the pressing of the grapes for wine & the storage of the wine. Perhaps the bottling & the kegs where the wine is aged.
